Puppy Socialization Package

This package is designed for any puppy owner who values quality puppy socialization to help the puppy develop into an adaptable and well socialized dog that is well prepared to to handle life as they grow. The sessions are most valuable if begun when the puppy is between eight and sixteen weeks of age; although, puppies of all ages will benefit.

Price: $2,000*

Includes:

  • A total of fifteen sessions between the trainer and puppy. There will be three sessions per week. Each session will be one hour long.
  • Travel by car and on foot to nearby locations where socialization can take place.

The following will be addressed:

  • Handling: Helping the puppy enjoy human touch, such as mouth opening, paw handling, gentle restraining, and petting
  • Meeting Strangers: Introducing the puppy to over a hundred individuals of all ages and demographics to avoid suspicion or timidity with people
  • Home Appliances: Making loud and strange objects, such as vacuum cleaners and hair dryers fun and normal to help avoid future timidity and reactivity
  • The Vets’ office: Helping to remove the fear of going to the vets
  • Mature, adult dogs: Introducing well behaved adult dogs to the puppy to help teach the puppy proper dog-to-dog interaction, respect, and confidence
  • Other puppies: Playing with other puppies in groups in order to learn bit inhibition, normal dog-to-dog interaction and proper submission and dominance behavior without fear or bullying
  • Nature: Exposing the puppy to different outdoor locations to build ease and confidence around obstacles, animals, and new smells. These encounters will help prevent over reactivity or fear as an adult
  • Shopping Centers: Exposing the puppy to different places where they can encounter crowds, cars, shopping carts, isles, people, animals, and other new experiences to build confidence and ease for a variety of situations
  • Traveling: Helping the puppy form positive associations with car riding and decrease anxiety associated with car sickness, as well as encouraging proper travel habits such as settling down while the car is moving.
  • Different Surfaces: Introducing the puppy to different surfaces, such as linoleum, wood, concrete, mulch, grass, and other surfaces in order to prevent a fear of strange surfaces
  • Special Requests: May include introduction to birds, cats, groomers, water, elevators, and buses. Certain special requests may incur additional fees

Basic Obedience Day Training Package

This Package is recommended for those wanting a full basic obedience course on leash. For thoe who would prefer a trainer practice with the dog throughout the week for increased reliability, giving the owner more of their time back when compared to private training or group classes.

Includes: 25 sessions total

  • 18 lessons between the trainer and the dog. There will be three lessons per week, with each lesson being one hour long. They will take place during the daytime, at the dog’s place of residence or at a nearby public location. During these lessons the trainer will work alone with the dog to teach it the intended commands and behaviors.
  • 6 transfer sessions between the trainer, the owner, and the dog. There will be one transfer session per week, each session will be one hour long, and will take place at the end of the dog’s training week. During these sessions the trainer will go over with the owner what the dog has learned that week and teach the owner how to maintain it
  • 1 follow up session. There will be one follow up session, taking place approximately two months after training has commenced. The purpose of this session will be to assess training retention, address any simple issues, answer questions, and refresh the dog’s training
  • 1 treat pouch
  • 1 twenty-foot or thirty-foot training lead

Intermediate Obedience Day Training Package

This package is for those wanting a full basic and intermediate obedience course, without the time and work involved in taking their dog on field trips and practicing commands to proof commands. The goal of this course is on leash reliability around distractions with common commands.

Border Collies walking

Includes: 49 sessions total

  • 36 lessons between the trainer and the dog. There will be three lessons per week, with each lesson being one hour long. They will take place during the daytime, at the dog’s place of residence or at a nearby public location. During these lessons the trainer will work alone with the dog to teach it the intended commands and behaviors
  • 12 transfer sessions between the trainer and the owner and the dog. There will be one transfer session per week, with each session being one hour long, and it will take place at the end of the dog’s training week. During these sessions the trainer will go over with the owner what the dog has learned that week and teach the owner how to maintain the training
  • 1 follow up session between the trainer and the owner and the dog. The session will take place two months after training has commenced
  • 1 treat training pouch
  • 1 twenty-foot or thirty-foot training lead
  • 1 forty-foot or fifty-foot training lead

Advanced Obedience Day Training Package

Includes: 73 sessions total

  • 54 lessons between the trainer and the dog. There will be three lessons per week, with each lesson being one hour long. They will take place during the daytime, at the dog’s place of residence or at a nearby public location. During these lessons the trainer will work alone with the dog to teach it the intended commands and behaviors
  • 18 transfer sessions between the trainer and the owner and the dog. There will be one transfer session per week, with each session being one hour long, and it will take place at the end of the dog’s training week. During these sessions the trainer will go over with the owner what the dog has learned that week and teach the owner how to maintain the training
  • 1 follow up session between the trainer and the owner and the dog. The session will take place two months after training has commenced

  • 1 forty-foot or fifty-foot training lead
  • 1 Educator E-collar (E-collar training is optional and will be thoroughly discussed. We do not use high level stimulation for obedience proofing. We work at the lowest level that the dog indicates he or she can feel and respond, and lay a foundation of obedience without the use of an E-collar before ever utilizing the E-collar for proofing for off leash reliability. Our goal is an off leash reliable dog, who clearly understands the training, and continues to thoroughly enjoy training).

This package is only for those wanting to address a simple obedience need or behavior problem**

Price: $1,300 plus the cost of any tools needed*

Includes: 13 sessions total

  • A total of nine lessons between the Trainer and the Dog. There will be three lessons per week, with each lesson being one hour long. They will take place during the daytime at the dog’s place of residence or at a nearby public location as a part of the training environment. During these lessons the trainer will work alone with the dog to teach it the intended commands and behaviors.
  • A total of three transfer sessions between the trainer, the owner, and the dog. There will be one transfer session per week, with each session being one hour long, and it will take place at the end of the dog’s training week. During these sessions the trainer will go over with the owner what the dog has learned that week and teach the owner how to maintain it.
  • One follow up session. There will be one follow up session, taking place approximately two months after training has commenced. The purpose of this session will be to assess training retention, address any simple issues, answer questions, and refresh any areas needed.

Packages can also be purchased in six week increments for the price of $2,800 per six week course for basic, intermediate, and advanced courses once the previous level course has been completed. For the best training retention it is recommended that courses take place within a short time of each other. For unique situations outside of those mentioned we would be happy to work with you on creating a program that fits your needs, simply contact us.

 *For all traveling services $10 will be added for every 5 minutes over the initial 20 minutes in drive time per session. Price per session will be double or triple the session rate, depending on drive time, if the client is over 35 minutes from the trainer.

**Due to the nature and complexity of people related dog aggression, it will be at the sole discretion of LIFE Dog Training to refuse training cases that are deemed to be best suited for a trainer that specializes in such cases.
